British Airways flights to Malaga land at Malaga Airport, five miles south-west of
Malaga city centre. After your flight, it's an easy journey by train, bus or
taxi to Malaga's sun-dappled beaches and golf clubs. Wander along
Malaga's leafy Paseo del Parque promenade to take in the sea air after
your flight. Or if your flight arrives after dark, head straight to Malaga's
lively bars and restaurants.
Travel to/from central Malaga
When your flight lands, follow the signs from the Arrivals hall to the Ferrocarril
electric train, which runs between Malaga and Fuengirola. You'll be
at central Malaga's Centro-Alameda stop in just 15 minutes. Or hop on
bus number 19, which travels into central Malaga in about 30 minutes.
There's a taxi rank outside Arrivals if you're loaded
down with bags after your Malaga flight, but be prepared to queue at busy times.
Best of Malaga
If your Malaga flight arrives early in the morning, head straight for
Malaga's seafront to watch the sun rise over palm-fringed beaches. After
your flights, Malaga's light can seem dazzling. It captured the imagination
of artist Pablo Picasso, whose family photos are on show in his Malaga boyhood home,
the Casa Natal de Picasso. Order a sweet Malaga wine and Malaga specialities
like mixed fried fish and squid in an Alameda bar. Shop for souvenir Spanish
flamenco dancers and Moorish-style boxes along twisting Calle Granada street
in Malaga's Old Town, and pack your bags with cheese and olives from
Malaga before your flight back home.
