British Airways has regular flights to Bari. Flights land at Bari 'Karol Wojtyla' International Airport, six miles west of Bari's ancient town centre. Catch a bus into Bari after leaving Bari flights and dive into the maze of lanes in Bari Vecchia (Old Bari). Take a bus into Bari Vecchia after your flight. Buses depart every hour or so and the trip to Piazza Aldo Moro square, outside Bari's train station, takes around 40 minutes. You can also catch an airport shuttle bus to the train station after your Bari flight. If you'd prefer to go by taxi after your flight to Bari, the trip into Bari Vecchia takes around 25 minutes.
Unwind after Bari flights with a leisurely walk along the Lungomare seaside promenade flanking the city walls of Bari Vecchia. Lose yourself in Bari's ancient labyrinth of lanes and alleys at the heart of the old town, stopping to visit tucked-away churches and shrines. Then stroll into Bari's new town to join the locals on their passeggiata walk down the trendy shopping strip along pedestrianised Via Sparano. Before you catch your return flight from Bari, stock up on Puglian gourmet favourites like cheese, extra-virgin olive oil, pasta and biscuits. Take home bottles of sweet Moscato wine and a miniature statue of St Nicholas on your flight from Bari.
