British Airways flights to Alicante land at Alicante Airport, seven miles south-west of Alicante city centre. When your flight gets into Alicante, take a bus or taxi, leave your bags and make a bee-line for Alicante's sun-drenched sandy beaches. Need some food after your Alicante flight? In the districts of Santa Cruz and El Puerto, you'll find everything from traditional tiled bars and pavement cafes to upmarket Alicante restaurants serving freshly caught seafood late into the night.

Travel to/from central Alicante

After your flight to Alicante Airport, buses leave from opposite the Flight Arrivals hall and travel along Alicante's Rambla avenue down to the seafront in about 40 minutes. If you're laden with bags from your Alicante fight, pick up a taxi outside Flight Arrivals. The journey into central Alicante takes anything from 15 to 30 minutes. Remember to check the fare with the taxi driver before you get in. Alicante Airport taxis take a maximum of four passengers – for larger groups taking flights to Alicante, book airport transfers in advance.

For one of the best ways to explore Alicante after your flight, just wander its tree-lined boulevards, winding medieval streets and lively beachfront paseos walkways.
