Our magazine for First passengers, First Life, is now available on the Apple App Store as a free interactive magazine on iPad and iPad Mini. All the content from the print edition is available for you to download, but redesigned and repackaged to make the most of the iPad’s interactivity and high-resolution display. Additionally, there will be bonus material in the form of extra images and copy, interactive maps and behind-the-scenes videos.
The March/April 2013 edition of First Life is The Collector’s Issue, a must-read for those looking to invest in something other than stocks and shares.Within the issue we unearth why collecting is in our genes and ask Who Are The Modern Medicis?, those modern day patrons who think nothing of spending millions of dollars on a painting.
But it’s not just art. There’s a roaring trade – and plenty of money to be made – in collecting everything from wine and watches to first editions and furniture. We’ve compiled a comprehensive guide for budding collectors on what to look out for and why. And where to go for these unusual covetables? We’ve got that sorted, too, with a diary of this year's key art events. Happy collecting!
