Probably the first thing we should mention is the nightlife in Dublin. People flock to the city for weekend breaks – all in search of great nights out. The city is full of traditional pubs, modern bars and microbreweries all trying to get you to spend your Euros with them. Top tips – Visit the world-famous Guinness Storehouse for a real taste of Ireland – and if you can, a trip to the Old Jameson Distillery too. The Dublin Literary Pub Crawl is a brilliant way to get to know Dublin’s watering holes – and learn all about its literary heroes.
Things to do - For the history buffs
Visit the Jeanie Johnston Famine Ship Museum, a replica of the boat that took Irish emigrants to North America during the Great Famine. Dublinia and The Viking World offers an interesting day trip. Other historic sites in the city - Trinity College, St Pauls Cathedral, Dublin Castle and Kilmainham Gaol. And of course The General Post Office – the most iconic building in Ireland.
Things to do - Out and about
Dublin’s best beach is just to the north – Dollymount Strand….perfect for a bike ride. Phoenix Park is the largest enclosed urban park in Europe – Dublin Zoo is located here. Try to catch a Hurling or Gaelic Football Game at Croke Park Stadium.
Things to do - Getting around
Dublin is divided by the River Liffey. On the North-side is O’Connell Street, the main drag with fab shopping streets leading off of it. On the South-side are such attractions as Trinity College and St Pauls Cathedral. The city is easy to explore by foot, the public transport is OK but not amazing. There is a bus network in the city, however taxis are readily available – apparently there are more cabs in Dublin than there are in New York! They offer a cheap, easy way to get around the city.

If you have time you should get out and visit the suburbs of Dublin – a perfect way to truly experience Ireland. Doonybrook and Ballsbridge are worthy of note. Ballsbridge is home to Shrewsbury Street – the worlds 6^th most expensive thoroughfare to live on. Killiney Hill is another suburb, and offers panoramic views of the Dublin Mountains. BA Holidays also offers lots of excursions to help passengers explore further afield – Belfast Day Trips, Giants Causeway, Blarney Castle, Ring of Kerry Rail Tours, Wicklow – the list goes on.
