You'll find plenty of indoor culture and outdoor adventure in funky, laid-back
Denver, which enjoys 300 sunny days a year. Visit the many galleries and museums, like
the Libeskind-extended Denver Art Museum, that give Denver its reputation as the
Arts Capital of the West. Join the Mile High City's (so named due to its
altitude) healthy residents on its cycle paths. Head for a skiing adventure in the
Rocky Mountains, then return to sample one of Denver's many locally
brewed beers on a rooftop patio.
Background
Head to Denver's Uptown area to find Restaurant Row, where fine
dining establishments sit next to funky bars and cafes, or join the hipsters in the
clubs of historic LoDo (Lower Downtown) with its Victorian buildings. Stroll
the tree-lined streets of Old South Gaylord or explore Capitol
Hill's Victorian mansions and Gothic cathedrals. Go south of
Downtown to discover a cluster of boutique galleries in the unique
ArtDistrict on Santa Fe. Head out of town to explore the wild and
wonderful Rockies.
First-time visit
Hire a bike and explore Denver's miles of cycle paths, stopping off at the
Denver Art Museum to see its African art collection, and Victorian
Larimer Square, Denver's first public square, now elegantly
restored. Catch an opera or ballet at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, or
a gig at one of the city's many live music venues (it has more than LA).
Take a day trip to the majestic Rockies to ski or hike, or watch the sun
setting behind the mountains from City Park. Then sip an al fresco cocktail
in one of Uptown's hip bars.
Return visit
See the city upside down from a rollercoaster at Elitch Gardens,
America's only downtown amusement park. Go west to the Highlands
district to find funky boutique shops, or south to Antique Row to work your
way through 18 blocks of antique shops and galleries. Head out of town to find the
many breweries and wineries around Denver, and enjoy perfect steaks on outdoor
patios as you gaze at the Rockies from the Denver foothills

passengers from the main terminal to concourses A, B and C in around six minutes.
Concourse A can also be reached via a passenger bridge with views of the prairie,
downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains.
