On the journey from London City to New York, we need to make a stop to refuel the aircraft before starting our transatlantic crossing. While we prepare the aircraft for the journey to New York, you will pass through United States Customs and Immigration. As a result, we can land in the United States as a domestic flight*, enabling you to bypass New York passport and customs control.
We have developed a ground process to minimise your time at Shannon airport where you can complete US Pre-clearance during our short refuelling stop. This enables both US and UK passengers to speed through the airport* on arrival in New York’s JFK.
On arrival at the US Pre-clearance hall you will need to briefly disembark and complete an additional security screening process to comply with US security regulations. We will complete the processing of any hold baggage you may have for US Customs beforehand.
Then once you have cleared security, you will be able to proceed to the US Pre-clearance desk to complete Immigration formalities, before boarding the flight and setting off on the transatlantic crossing to New York.
This short stop is under 45 minutes, and should you have the time, we have provided a gate side lounge with complimentary Wi-Fi.
