We feel it is vitally important that aviation plays its full part in reducing its level of carbon dioxide emissions to meet global emission targets.

We have and will continue to lead our industry through many activites including;

• Supporting the inclusion of aviation in well designed emissions trading systems.
• Implementing the first UK programme that enables customers to support low carbon community projects across the UK.
• Upgrading aircraft fleets to reduce noise and emissions.
• Working with manufacturers to develop new environmental technologies.

What we have achieved:

• Promoting technology that helps limit the environmental impact of aircraft.
• Campaigning for inclusion of aviation in an international post Kyoto framework.
• Adopting robust methodology for calculating our carbon footprint.
• Incorporating our carbon dioxide reduction goals as one of our five corporate business goals.
