Ghana School

Ghana School, also known as The Lord is my Shepherd Educational Centre is situated in Ghana's central region and opened in 1998 with 7 children.

Thirty pupils have recently graduated at the school’s 4th Graduation Day and there has so far been a 100 percent success rate with 141 pupils completing their exams to go on to further education.

The school was built totally by hand using only local tradesmen, and now employs a staff of 45 full time local staff, including teachers, cooks, office staff, cleaners and gardeners. A new football/sports field has recently been laid, there is table tennis and netball equipment and beachfront land around 3 miles from the school where children can carry out environmental studies.

Other facilities include a plant nursery, science lab, computer studies room as well as a carpentry shop, hairdressers, sewing shop and second hand clothes shop, all the profits from the shops are put back into the school funds.

Hope for Children

“HOPE for children” supports children who suffer through being handicapped, orphaned, poor and exploited, both with in the UK and in developing countries.

Having local overseas representatives, working for HOPE, ensures that native people are helping to direct the funds to those who are most in need. HOPE support ranges from small individual grants to the financing of a centre that provides the fitting of artificial limbs.

Many of the children and families HOPE supports are encouraged to develop income-generating schemes so helping them to help themselves. HOPE prides its self on low administrational costs and high expenditure towards helping children achieve their potential.
