Something for everyone

The Bahamas covers 150,000 square miles of sea - and it's a place that caters to all tastes. A cosmopolitan city that knows how to have a good time, Nassau offers a variety of shops, bars and clubs.

You'll also find excellent beaches to explore here, with warm turquoise waters that are the clearest in the world. And they boast visibility of over 200 feet (61 metres).

From this base, you can arrange trips to nearby islands. Each day, 40-foot powerboats surge out to the Exuma Cays, where you can swim with stingrays and dolphins.

Experience Nassau's colourful history

If you want to explore the rich history of the Bahamas, you'll find there's plenty to discover. The island's colonial past is reflected in the pastel buildings, beautifully preserved Victorian mansions, 18th-century fortresses, and a Queen's Staircase - whose 66 steps lead to a breathtaking view.

The locals are proud of their history and love to celebrate the island's colourful past. Feast your eyes on rare exhibits, informative guided tours and vibrant annual festivities. Don't miss Junkanoo, celebrated on Boxing Day and New Years day. Its energy and colour have caused it to be compared to the Carnival in Rio.

Endless activities

The Bahamas offer so many excellent activities it's hard to know where to begin. You could start by testing the range of your golfing expertise at any one of the nine superb courses that grace the Bahamas. And of course there's always fishing - these waters have witnessed at least 50 record catches. Or why not swim with dolphins (we'd be happy to pre-book this for you).

Enjoy a visit to Thunderball Grotto, named after a Bond film shot here. Strong surrounding currents mean it's best visited with a guide. But its magical columns stalactites and stalagmites make it truly unforgettable.
