Car rental in Berlin

Silver car.

Capital of Germany, Berlin is a city steeped in history. Fascinating culture and a huge variety of architecture combine to make for an unforgettable holiday destination. A car rental trip in this historic region gives you the freedom to go where you please at your own pace.

Unlike many European cities, Berlin is relatively straightforward for the car rental traveller. The long and wide main roads all connect to the city's ring road, the Berliner Ring.

However, they do become crowded during rush hour. When exploring the city centre it's probably best to postpone your car rental. Discover attractions such as the Berlin Wall, the stunning new Reichstag and the iconic Brandenburg Gate by foot instead.

Further afield, car rental gives you many exciting options. It's easy to get around Germany from Berlin with car rental. The excellent German autobahn connect Berlin with the wider area, opening up opportunities for an unforgettable car rental trip.

The city of Potsdam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a great first stop. Use car rental also to visit the Schloss Sanssouci, a stunning rococo palace with fabulous interiors and beautiful gardens.

North of Berlin, you can use car rental to visit the medieval town of Bernau, with its 14th and 15th century remains and churches. Alternatively, no car rental tour would be complete without taking in the surrounding countryside, such as the Müritz Lake region to the north - a national park with around 100 lakes - or the Baltic seashore at Usedom or Wolin.

Two hours south of Berlin lies Leipzig. A simple trip for car rental travellers, Leipzig was nicknamed 'Little Paris' due to its literary history. The picturesque architecture really comes alive during the Christmas markets season. Scenery is beautifully lit and stalls selling delicious Glühwein line the Old Market Square.

The beautiful city of Dresden is also around two hours car rental drive from Berlin. This stunning city teems with classical architecture. Dresden is also home to a vibrant student culture and arts scene.
