Key West celebrates Fantasy Fest, a ten-day mix of masquerade balls, quirky costume competitions and other weird and wonderful events. A themed event, don't miss Goombay, a street party that runs for two days in the historic Bahama Village.

Fantasy Fest is internationally recognised as the Keys' event of the year. Kicking off proceedings is the Royal Coronation Ball to crown the King and Queen of masked mayhem.

Goombay, one of the festival's main highlights, is held on 23 October in 2009. Other events include Tuesday's Headdress Ball, a showcase for wild imagination featuring fierce competition for the "best crown" trophy, the Caribbean Street Fair and the Fairvilla Megastore Masquerade March.
