Madrid-based charity FiSahara holds its International Film Festival at the refugee camps of Tindouf, situated in the arid Saharan landscape of western Algeria. Film screenings, roundtable discussions and workshops bring the local population closer to the world of cinema.
Tindouf's humble jaima tents, dotted across the hostile desert landscape, become a hive of film activity during the festival. Through a series of workshops, top professionals from Madrid's film industry teach the saharauis skills in film editing, using cameras and more.
Accompanying events include a camel race, football match, candlelit party in the dunes and a closing concert.
Event details can change. Please check with the organisers that the event is happening before making travel arrangements.
