JoJo the Dolphin Project is a unique human/dolphin friendship in the Turks and Caicos that led to the founding of a marine wildlife foundation. JoJo the bottlenose dolphin is a mascot for nature conservation and seen around the islands frequently.
Dean Bernal, an accomplished free diver, met JoJo in 1984 when swimming out to the offshore reefs around the islands. JoJo is now a protected wild dolphin and Dean's work continues to develop and promote awareness, conservation, protection and preservation of the natural marine wonders of the islands through the JoJo Project, which is established as an independent charity.
