Yankari National Park covers miles of rolling hills in central Nigeria and is one of West Africa's better game parks. Visitors can arrange walking tours or guided tours on specially adapted trucks to see elephants, buffalos, hippos, lions, monkeys, crocodiles and baboons.
The park has an elephant population of around 300, the largest of any in West Africa, but sighting the animals is sometimes tricky due to dense vegetation. The best time to visit is late February to late April.
The Wiki Warm Springs near the park lodge contain warm crystal-clear water. Accommodation is offered at the hotel near the springs and camping facilities are also available.
Event details can change. Please check with the organisers that the event is happening before making travel arrangements.
