The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair at Toronto's Direct Energy Centre is the big agricultural and horticultural expo for the state of Ontario. Founded in 1922, it showcases the finest in agricultural products, from sheep to home-made jam.

Attractions include a fabulous garden fair with plants, flowers and horticultural gadgets. There are vegetable and fruit competitions, cheese judging, hundreds of livestock classes and a rodeo.

A further part of the fair, the Royal Horse Show, is a crucial stage in the selection of international show-jumping competitors. There are show-jumping competitions, classes for hunters, horse and pony showings and carriage-driving events to keep horse enthusiasts amused.
