The Tel Aviv Museum of Art is Israel's largest museum devoted to Israeli and Jewish fine arts. It also houses paintings by other famous artists including Renoir, Monet, Van Gogh, Matisse and Picasso.
The Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art was founded at the beginning of the 1930s, and it grew rapidly from the outset thanks to the addition of entire collections and individual works donated by collectors from around the world.
The current collection focuses on the major trends of Modernism, from Impressionism and Post-Impressionism through the main avant-garde streams of the early 20th century, the School of Paris and the New York School, up to the 1960s, complemented by a growing collection of contemporary art.
Temporary exhibitions, cultural programmes of classical and jazz music, dance and cinema also feature.
