Singapore's Chinese New Year Light Up is the highlight of the year. All the Chinese districts are illuminated and the celebrated Chingay Parade makes its way down Orchard Road.
A multitude of activities are organised throughout Singapore for the Chinese New Year Light Up, including cultural performances, Chinese markets selling festive goodies and spectacular fireworks. The actual Chinese New Year in 08/09 is on 26 January. Please visit the tourist office website for details of celebrations throughout the city and the country.
