The Pompidou Centre launches its inaugural Arts Festival - five colourful weeks of exhibitions, talks, screenings and gigs celebrating the cultural crème de la crème. Catch the action in the Galerie Sud, Mezzanine - and beyond, at Paris's Conciergerie.

Featured artists include Carsten Höller, Andrea Blum, Jorge Pardo, Manfred Pernice, Tobias Rehberger, Franz West and Zlatan Vulkosavljevic. Today's painting in 30 pictures offers a daily glimpse at painting's latest trends, showcasing works by, among others, John Tremblay, Edi Hila and Anselm Reyl.
Elsewhere, the Mezzanine sets the stage for a series of dance-video installations, while the Conciergerie is given over to contemporary sculptor-cum-dancer-cum-choreographer, Christian Rizzo. Visit the Centre website for further details.
