Like its crosstown rival Disney-MGM Studios, Universal Studios Orlando offers a chance to walk through movie sets, learn some of the tricks of the silver screen and enjoy some thrilling rides. There's something for all the family.
The studio draws on its parent company's immense film catalogue for its array of famous movie moments. The main thematic areas are:
Production Central: this details movie-making techniques and tricks. The section devoted to Alfred Hitchcock includes a life-size set of Rear Window and (surprise, surprise!) allows you to recreate the Psycho shower scene.
New York: a concentrated dose of urban street sets puts you in that Big Apple mood - an apt preparation for Kongfrontation, a thrill ride out of a simian-threatened NYC. For reasons that are unclear, the tornado-effect Twister is situated here as well.
San Francisco/Amity: so real you'll wonder when the fog is going to roll in, promises the park. More urban street sets are joined here by a Wild West stunt-riding show, a rock 'n' roll review and rides devoted to Jaws and The Towering Inferno.
Hollywood: this area features a grab bag of attractions devoted to Lucille Ball, Terminator 2 and horror movies.
Event details can change. Please check with the organisers that the event is happening before making travel arrangements.
