The Christmas Star International Regatta in the Baie des Anges is France's most important regatta. Organised by the Club Nautique de Nice, it has been taking place for over 40 years and welcomes 30-40 crews from all over the world.
You can be sure of witnessing only the world's finest as Olympic-level athletes converge on Nice to compete in a number of sailing classes, featuring the "Star" boat that is used in Olympic competitions.
Past competitors have included Paul Cayard (USA), Roberto Benamati (Italy), José-Louis Doreste (Spain) and a host of other national champions. The competition takes place against a spectacular backdrop of snowy mountains that make the contest the perfect excuse for a day out.
Event details can change. Please check with the organisers that the event is happening before making travel arrangements.
