The Festival des Très Courts (Festival of Short Shorts), held at cinemas across France, offers an original programme of some 50 short films, each lasting less than three minutes. If your attention span is limited, it's a must!
Participating cities include Paris, Caen, La Rochelle, Marseille, Montpellier, Reims, Millau and Cherbourg. The programme spans film, video and animation, and the under-three-minute rule means that filmmakers are obliged to go straight to the heart of the matter, often leading to some poetic and innovative results. It also means that amateur filmmakers can express their vision once they have grasped the basics.
A jury awards prizes for the most original and best films and the public are also invited to vote - the winners are rewarded on the final evening.
Please visit the festival website for a full list of participating venues.
