The free Los Angeles Times Festival of Books attracts thousands of visitors to UCLA with panel and speaker sessions, outdoor stage-based readings and performances. Numerous authors discuss their work and take part in book signings for adults and children.
The Los Angeles Times Book Prize is awarded to books in many disciplines including history, fiction and biography.
The festival website publishes full details of this year's programme from the end of March.
