Acclaimed at the Edinburgh International Festival, Michael Clark brings his new work to London's Barbican Theatre as part of bite09, in conjunction with Dance Umbrella. Its soundtrack is of Clark's rock heroes David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Lou Reed.

Simon Williams in Michael Clark's new work based on David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Lou Reed. Photo by Jake WaltersMichael Clark single-handedly initiated a movement to lift modern dance to a new level of technical expertise and in doing so introduced dance to a whole new generation who didn't know their Ashton from their Laban. He returns with his company to the Barbican where - again in conjunction with the annual Dance Umbrella - he had a three-year residency concentrating on Stravinsky between 2005 and 2007.

His company for this new work comprises Kate Coyne, Melissa Hetherington, Oxana Panchenko, Clair Thomas, Benjamin Warbis and Simon Williams.
