Istanbul - Event

Brand-new productions as well as unforgettable classics and an elite selection of masterpieces by world-famous directors are screened at the Istanbul International Film Festival. In total there are 235 films in 20 different categories, attracting 85,000 visitors every year.

Films at the festival have included The Good German, Steven Soderbergh's production featuring George Clooney and Cate Blanchett, and George Hickenlooper's Factory Girl, with Sienna Miller and Guy Pearce. Among the list of Oscar winners was Pan's Labyrinth, a masterpiece by Guillermo del Toro that portrays the Spanish Civil War as seen through the eyes of a little girl.
