Houston's penchant for the big and the bold shines through during the Uptown Tree Lighting on Post Oak Boulevard. Visitors enjoy around 80 Christmas trees, a plethora of illuminated buildings, half a million twinkling fairy lights and fireworks.
The ceremony takes place on the long block of Post Oak Boulevard between Westheimer Road and San Felipe Street. The fun begins with an electric light parade of bands and choirs, followed by main stage entertainment. Before long, Santa Claus arrives and the dozens of decorated trees and buildings are illuminated simultaneously.
After the fun and games of Thanksgiving Evening, the lights stay in place for the entire festive season.
