Hamburg shows off with a wide range of different markets over the Christmas period, all located in the centre of the city. The city's main market is located on Rathausplatz, the large central square dominated by the town hall.
It's also worth visiting the market on Gerhart-Hauptmann-Platz (24 November to 30 December, closed 24 & 25 December) for local handicrafts and the festively lit stalls around St Petri Church.
