Cape Town - Event

Every year on the first weekend of December, Cape Town celebrates the beginning of summer with the OBZ Festival. Held in the suburb of Observatory, this street festival features music, film screenings, arts and crafts as well as children's activities.

Divided into sections, the OBZ Festival features live funk, soul, hip-hop, rock, ska, reggae and Afro pop music performances, while the chillout zone plays acoustic and jazz tunes.

OBZ Film is a slice of the festival dedicated to local productions, while OBZ Art encourages creativity with a spraycan art project and exhibitions by local artists.

The OBZ Kid is a corner for storytelling, children's songs and other entertaining initiatives, and the new OBZ Digital creates interaction between the festival, the audience and the artists through technological gadgets.
