Baltimore - Event

Baltimore's free Artscape family festival is held annually on Mount Royal Avenue. It features 150 performing, literary and visual arts programmes, and sees local, regional and national musicians perform continuously on three outdoor stages, rain or shine.

The event has grown to enormous proportions over the past few years. The stages offer everything from jazz and world beat to gospel and country music. If you're after something more refined there are opera and chamber concerts, as well as a host of national and international dance troupes.

For your literary fix, there are a variety of workshops, a state-wide writing competition, celebrity readings and book-signings, panel discussions and even poetry slams. Street theatre and visual arts exhibitions complete the programme.
