The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam annually screens 250 documentaries from around the world at Pathé de Munt and Pathé Tuschinski, making it the largest documentary festival in the world. Outdoor screenings take place in the Rembrandtplein.
Founded in 1988, the festival has become as important for industry professionals as a networking forum as it has for the audiences of more than 100,000 that it attracts each year.
In the main competitive programmes, the best new documentaries of the year compete for five different awards. There are also various themed non-competitive programmes and the annual Top 10, in which a leading filmmaker chooses his or her favourite documentaries.
Tickets can be bought from the festival box office in Cineac, opposite the Tuschinski. For full programme details, please visit the festival website.
Event details can change. Please check with the organisers that the event is happening before making travel arrangements.
