Located in the 18th-century Gravina Palace in the old quarter of Alicante, the recently-opened MUBAG displays works by Salzillo, Vicente López, Antonio Gisbert and Joaquín Agrasot, among others.
On show are more than 500 pieces dating from the Middle Ages to the 1920s, including pantings and sculptures. These have been put into context with period furniture and textiles, providing an opportunity for visitors to better understand the social and cultural aspects that affected the art development in this area.
The museum also features an auditorium, a permanent exhibition lounge tracing the history of the building itself and a temporary exhibition room. It regularly hosts other cultural activities, such as concerts and recitals.
Event details can change. Please check with the organisers that the event is happening before making travel arrangements.
