The AVO Session Basel music festival at Messezentrum Basel attracts the hottest blues, jazz, folk and soul performers. The festival began in 1986 as the Rheinknie Session, and when Miles Davis performed here in 1988 the event achieved worldwide fame.
The 2009 line-up includes The Scorpions, Snow Patrol, Simple Minds, Tom Jones and James Morrisson, among others.
