Housed in a lovingly restored palace on the Corniche, the Qatar National Museum offers a fascinating insight into the country's customs, crafts, history and natural habitat. Highlights feature an aquarium, an intriguing display on Bedouin tribesmen, a collection of minerals and a lagoon where traditional dhow boats are moored. Dating back to 1912, the white-fronted palace is built around a central courtyard and is a pristine example of Islamic architecture.
