Jaliscan culture is celebrated in all its glory every year at Guadalajara's month-long October Festival. Catch concerts, rodeos, sporty events, folk dance displays and art exhibitions scattered around the city. Principal events take place in the Benito Juarez Auditorium.
The October Festival was started by the Jaliscan State authorities as a means of attracting visitors to explore Guadalajaran culture and has taken place every year since 1965.
The crowning of the October Festival queen is of huge importance to locals. Make sure you catch a verbena too, these nightly feasts are justly famous. Guadalajara is well known in Mexico for its vibrant music scene and this is the best time to explore it.
Please visit the October Festival website for full details of all the events.
