Grenada pulses with excitement during the the island's biggest party, the ebullient Grenada Carnival. Street theatre, music and dancing, pageants of masqueraders and costumed revellers work up to the wild Parade of the Bands through the streets of St George's.

The capital jumps to the sounds of steel bands and DJs as everyone enjoys a "Las Lap" during the Parade of the Bands. Grenada and Carriacou exult in their own vitality during carnival, making this an unforgettable time to visit the island and to get to know its people.

The event takes place all over the Carenage (the oldest, harbour area of St Georges), where steel drum tournaments, calypso competitions and the Beauty Queen Pageant bring thousands onto the streets for a mighty fine Caribbean ruk.
