The fishing community of Port-en-Bessin-Huppain celebrates its heritage with a European Songs of the Sea Festival. Singing seamen from all over the continent gather to belt out the tunes that keep them going when at sea for months on end.

Other activities at Port-en-Bessin's European Songs of the Sea Festival include guided tours of trawlers and boats, a sailors' knot workshop, seafood stalls, bric-a-brac, live music and entertainment as well as the opportunity to hear stories of bravery and sacrifice from local fishermen.
