Whitcomb - Civic Centre

This historic hotel is centrally located in the Tenderloin district, featuring 460 rooms, a large restaurant and cosy bar. It offers good value for money and is a convenient base from which to explore San Francisco.

As you enter the spacious, traditional lobby, you are reminded of a bygone, Victorian era. The hotel offers valet parking, an express check-in and check-out feature and free WiFi across the hotel. In room amenities include satellite TV with in-room movies, desk and chair and air conditioning. Although the room rates are low, the rooms would benefit from an upgrade as they are dated. The communal areas are also dark.

After a busy day sightseeing, try the Market Street Grill serving international and local cuisine all day. It’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoy a relaxing drink at The Tavern or grab a coffee at Starbucks, located in the lobby.

The Whitcomb is set on lively Market Street, across from the Orpheum Theatre, Asian Art Museum and is just a 15 minute walk to the popular Union Square. The cruises, China Town and tourist activities such as Alcatraz, as well as San Francisco Bay can be easily reached.

As in any busy city, this area of San Francisco has a significant transient population and it’s prudent to be aware of your surroundings and those around you during your stay.
