Sugar Beach boasts three two pools: a main pool with a kids’ section and a quiet pool. The sprawling main pool is situated between the north villas and the manor house, backing onto the beach and right next to Buddha-Bar. One of the largest pools in Mauritius, the main swimming area is scattered with palm trees, daybeds and even tiny islands. Traipse over one of the wooden bridges crossing the pool to reach a lounger beneath a banyan tree and dip your toes into the sparkling water. Alternatively, head for the quiet pool. There’s no shortage of entertainment for kids and teenagers at this family-friendly resort. Sun Kids Club keeps the energy high and the excitement reeling for young holiday-goers aged 2 to 11, providing creative activities to help them get stuck into their wonderous surroundings. Serving easy-breezy breakfasts, lunches and fun themed dinners, Le Patio is a buffet-style restaurant drawing inspiration from cuisines around the world. Watch as chefs whip up creative concoctions right in front of you before settling into a cushy booth for a relaxed meal. The restaurant’s white beams and bright, seafoam green walls make for a vibrant, beachy atmosphere. Meanwhile, vases stuffed with exotic flowers and palms are a cheerful reminder of the luscious gardens waiting outside.
