Splash around in the Lava Pool which features a volcano structure, waterfall, and 43-metre-long water slide. At the base of the volcano, you’ll find a Polynesian-themed bar, and there are plenty of tables and chairs around the landscaped pool area. Otherwise, cool off in whirlpool or visit the quieter Oasis Pool, which is set amid lush gardens.

There’s a stretch of white-sand beach which borders one side of the property. You can sunbathe on one of the lounge chairs here, play on the volleyball court, or head to the Mikala Canoe Club Marina where you can rent motorised boats (for an additional charge).

Make the most of the hotel’s scenic jogging trail which winds around the lagoon and offers views of Magic Kingdom Park. In the evenings, watch the popular firework display and admire the twinkling lights of the delightful water parade. Alternatively, gather round the campfire to enjoy family-friendly activities or watch Disney movies at complimentary screenings.

Although there are no health club facilities on the property, you can use the facilities at the nearby sister property – Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This includes a spa, fitness centre and selection of restaurants.

Families can book a playful character breakfast at Ohana, where Disney characters (including Lilo and Stitch) join you at your table. Breakfasts consist of Mickey Mouse waffles and a variety of cooked options. In the evenings Ohana transforms into a Hawaiian-style dinner restaurant. In between savouring Hawaiian specialties enjoy family activities such as hula hooping and dancing to island music.

If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat, Capt. Cook's serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Start the day with the popular banana-stuffed Tonga toast and savour an assortment of sandwiches, salads, and flatbreads later. There’s also Kona Island, which serves coffee and pastries in the morning, followed by grab-and-go sandwiches, salads, and sushi dishes.

In the daytime, you can head to Oasis Bar & Grill which is located by the pool. Savour a selection of grilled dishes – like tacos, hamburgers, and wings – alongside tropical cocktails and Hawaiian beers. If you fancy something sweet afterwards, take a trip to Pineapple Lanai to try the signature frozen Dole Whip.

Throughout the day, order soft drinks, beers, wines, and smoothies at the Barefoot Pool Bar or Tambu Lounge - Great Ceremonial House. This tiki-style lounge offers a full bar menu which includes island-themed cocktails and appetisers.

Evenings can be spent soaking up the relaxed outdoor atmosphere of Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace. Relish exotic cocktails such as the Polynesian Pearl or Tahitian Torch, and order light bites at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. Otherwise, there’s the Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show which offers a unique family-style feast (or luau), accompanied by colourful Polynesian dancing and entertainment. With room service, you can also dine in the comfort and privacy of your own room.
