This day tour starts with a spectacular drive through the Hajar mountains, via the oases of Fanjah and Birkat Al Mauz, to reach the impressive 17th century fort of Nizwa. After exploring Nizwa you will continue on to the souk, famous for its Bedouin silver jewellery. Next you will drive via Tanuf and Bahla to the magnificent fort of Jabreen, famed for its wall and ceiling murals.

Then drive to the great desert of Oman, Wahiba Sands, where you will enjoy a thrilling dune drive and learn more about the way of desert life.

Transfer to Bander al Rowdha Marina to join the guide in the search for dolphins and whales. Watching wild dolphins is a thrilling way to start the day and you may even be lucky enough to come across one of the many species of whales, which can sometimes be found just a few kilometres off Muscat’s rugged coast. See the Al Alam Palace, flanked by two Portuguese forts - Jalali and Mirani and drive along the cornice to one of Oman’s oldest souks at Muttrah. Wander the narrow alleys, smell the exotic frankincense and sandalwood, and barter for bargains with the Omani stall holders.
