Tower of London

Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress, best known as the Tower of London, has been a part of British royal history for nearly 1,000 years. Built on the Thames by William the Conqueror to protect London and assert his power, it has served as an execution place, an armoury, a treasury, a zoo, the Royal Mint, an observatory, and of course, home of the Crown Jewels.
