Cancun, in the wonderful Yucatan peninsula of Mexico, is an area of rich cultural heritage. Alongside the high-rise hotels and world-renowned nightclubs of Cancun city, ancient ruins show Mexico's pre-Columbian history on the Riviera Maya.
Swim in the crystal-clear Caribbean Sea, before stretching out on the endless, sundrenched white sand beaches on holidays in Cancun. Visit the incredible Mayan monuments and temples, including one of the Seven Wonders of the World – Chichén Itzá. Take a leisurely dip in the legendary waterlogged sinkholes or cenotes. Or snorkel with the myriad of brightly-coloured fish around the spectacular barrier reef. Indulge yourself with luxury shopping at chic boutiques, or visit a mall with its own nightclub. Drink Margaritas at the many pumping bars and clubs in the Hotel Zone, before watching the sunrise with new friends. More than your average Caribbean holiday, Cancun has a lot more to offer than relaxing on a beach – so get out there and explore.

Jump on a bus or stroll to one of the Hotel Zone’s many malls – including the charming La Isla shopping village, with its Venetian-style canals. Stretch out on sugar white sands, snorkel in sparkling blue waters, or try adrenaline pumping water sports. On romantic holidays, gaze at the stunning sunset over Nichupte Lagoon. In the evening, experience the electric nightlife of Cancun’s Hotel Zone – starting with a dazzling show at the renowned Coco Bongo club.
Cool yourself in the beautiful turquoise waters of the Caribbean before sunning yourself on the soft white sand of this 10km beach. This lively hub of the Riviera Maya has an ambience all of its own. Experience the exciting thrill of La Quinta Avenida at dusk, where mariachi musicians entertain diners. Then afterwards, move into the throng where the open air bars entertain with dance music into the small hours. Along 12th Street, you will find mini versions of Coco Bongo and Señor Frog’s nightclubs, made famous in Cancun’s Hotel Zone.
Leave the bustle of the Hotel Zone behind to enjoy the calmer pace of the Riviera Maya’s towns and villages. These include Xcaret, Tulúm, Playa del Carmen, Playacar and Puerto Aventuras. Relax on flawless palm-fringed sands within tropical coves. Whilst rich in natural beauty, the Riviera Maya is also a playground for adventure. Go snorkelling around the Northern Hemisphere’s largest barrier reef, swim in a cenote or experience the unforgettable thrill of cave diving. Make sure to stay at a traditional Mexican-style retreat overlooking the endless beaches.
Puerto Morelos, a quaint fishing village just 25 minutes’ drive from Cancun, is perfect for those looking for a quieter time. Stay at one of our luxury hotels nearby, hire bikes and cycle to the village. Try the local delicacies of freshly caught seafood at charming restaurants by the beach. Climb up to the top of the lighthouse for truly spectacular views of the surrounding headland. For the adventurous, a must-do activity is snorkelling in one of the largest aquatic ecosystems in the world – the beautiful and mysterious Mesoamerican Barrier Reef.
If Playa del Carmen gets a bit too lively, then hop on a ferry to the wonderful island of Cozumel. Explore the delightful town of San Miguel de Cozumel, before learning about its history at Cozumel Museum. Look for handmade crafts and souvenirs at the diverse boutiques and jewellery stalls. Stop for some lunch at the world’s smallest Hard Rock Café, or grab a beer and burrito at a local bar. An amazing underwater world awaits you in Cozumel, so try snorkelling or diving in the surrounding reefs.
