Koh Samui flight FAQs

How long is a flight to Koh Samui?

Flights from London to Koh Samui take around 15 hours, connecting in Doha with our partner airline Qatar.

What’s the cheapest month to fly to Koh Samui?

Koh Samui has a tropical climate that’s warm and sunny all year round, although it’s slightly drier – and more popular – in winter. Travel between April and November for the best value flights, with a connection in Doha.

Is Koh Samui cheap to visit?

Koh Samui caters to every budget, whether you’re backpacking or living the high life in five-star resorts. Chaweng is the busiest of Koh Samui’s destinations and prices here are often higher than you’ll find in nearby Lamai. Save on Thai favourites at the Lamai Walking Street night market and relax in the great value beachside bars.

It’s also free to visit some of the island’s main attractions, such as the Samui Big Buddha temple in the northeast. Plan your visit for the morning to catch the monks during their daily chanting.

Is it easy to get around Koh Samui?

Once you touch down at Koh Samui Airport, there are plenty of shared and private transport options to take you on to your accommodation. Book your transfer from the counter inside Arrivals, where you’ll find a list of fixed prices for trips to popular locations across the island. Alternatively, international car rental outlets are also located at the airport.

Why visit Koh Samui?

There’s so much to love about Koh Samui before you even step foot on its beaches. You can immerse yourself in this island of contrasts, where spiritual Buddhist temples and shrines stand among the lush green hills and coconut plantations, just a stone’s throw from lively night markets and luxury spas.

To see a simpler way of life, visit the charming Fishing Village area of Bophut. Its streets are lined with old wooden shophouses and lit with Chinese lanterns. After a leisurely stroll through the town, you can retreat to the beachside bars and restaurants for a cocktail and authentic Thai food.

Do I need a visa for Thailand?

Citizens of the UK and Ireland and EU passport holders may require a visa to visit Thailand, depending on how long they stay. You can find out more about visa requirements for all the countries we fly to on our visa information page.
