Viva Las Vegas!

Shining bright in the desert like a beacon to all night owls, the modern-day oasis of Las Vegas is maybe the craziest, most excessive place on earth. Built as a pleasure resort, you will be surprised at the new side to Sin City.

All night casinos and massive ultra-luxury resorts are only the beginning in Las Vegas. And whilst well known as an adult playground, recent attempts at making Vegas a classier, more elegant place are being welcomed with open arms. Fantastic, award-winning signature restaurants of celebrity chefs have taken over from the humdrum buffets. Pool parties and big name DJs have replaced the erstwhile crooners and cabarets. Vegas is a holiday destination on the rise. Huge glamourous resorts vie for your attention on the Strip, replacing the old mob-funded hotels of yesteryear. Las Vegas is a city reborn, and you are invited to the party.

What's on in Las Vegas over the next few months

February

In a city like Las Vegas, you can find some weird and wonderful shows. The four-dimensional EVIL DEAD: The Musical will have you in stitches on 4 February at the V Theatre. This hilarious show based on the Evil Dead film franchise even has a ‘splatter zone’ where viewers are sprayed with blood and gore. Cupid’s Undie Run sees joggers don their underwear for charity, and sashay down Fremont Street in Downtown on 13 February – not something you will see on a cold morning in London. And finally, in one of the most romantic stories ever made, theatregoers can watch a live-action version of The Bridges of Madison County. Just after Valentine’s Day, between 23 and 28 February at the Smith Center you can see this story of a lonely housewife’s whirlwind romance to a roaming photographer.
