Lights of Las Vegas

Viva Las Vegas!

Shining bright in the desert like a beacon to all night owls, the modern-day oasis of Las Vegas is maybe the craziest, most excessive place on earth. Built as a pleasure resort, you will be surprised at the new side to Sin City.

All night casinos and massive ultra-luxury resorts are only the beginning in Las Vegas. And whilst well known as an adult playground, recent attempts at making Vegas a classier, more elegant place are being welcomed with open arms. Fantastic, award-winning signature restaurants of celebrity chefs have taken over from the humdrum buffets. Pool parties and big name DJs have replaced the erstwhile crooners and cabarets. Vegas is a holiday destination on the rise. Huge glamourous resorts vie for your attention on the Strip, replacing the old mob-funded hotels of yesteryear. Las Vegas is a city reborn, and you are invited to the party.

What's on in Las Vegas over the next few months

May brings the start of summer, which in Vegas means pool parties and rodeo clowns. The famous Comic Con and exhilarating Electric Daisy Carnival really get the scene sizzling in June, then July starts in spectacular style with Independence Day on the fourth.

May

Starting on 5 May with Cinco de Mayo, Las Vegas comes alive with all things Mexican. Bringing some of the biggest DJs and massive pool parties, this is always a great weekend in Vegas. Head to XS at Encore to see David Guetta send the crowds wild. 80s rock icon Billy Idol takes to the stage at the House of Blues, from 4 to 14 May – in a stage show that promises to be a real wild one. Following this, the cowboys come to town for the annual Helldorado Days festival which takes place on 13 to 15 May at the Las Vegas Village. Be thrilled and amazed as you watch the rodeo riders controlling bucking horses and powerful bulls with ease. And finally, see the legendary rockers The Who at The Colosseum on 29 May for a one-night-only extravaganza – expect a night of classics from this superb band, now in their 5th decade.

As part of Las Vegas Restaurant Week from 6 to 17 June, a host of award-winning restaurants and popular local eateries will be donating a portion of their proceeds to the Three Square Food Bank charity, helping the hungry in Southern Nevada. Then Vegas bids you “Willkommen, bienvenue”, as the Broadway classic, Cabaret comes to The Smith Center from 14 to 19 June. Acclaimed directors Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall joined forces in producing this Tony Award®-winning tour de force about life and love, against the backdrop of WWII. Super hero outfits at the ready… The Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con lands at the Las Vegas Convention Center from 17 to 19 June. Celebrating all things comic book-related, Nevada’s premier pop cultural event features appearances from legendary creators including X-Men writer Chris Claremont. Or get ready for another kind of otherworldly experience, as the Electric Daisy Carnival brings an explosion of neon hues mashed with pounding electro beats, to the Las Vegas Speedway from 17 to 19 June. They don’t call it a ‘Carnival’ for nothing…
