What's on in Paris over the next few months

The City of Light becomes the city of love in February, with Valentine’s Day taking over. Easter time in March means Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral and chocolate egg-hunts. Then catch a concert or experience the excitement of the Paris marathon, in April.

February

The start of the month is the last chance to see Warhol: Unlimited at the Musée d’Art Moderne, which finishes on the 7 February. In this show, the pop art maestro’s Shadows series is shown in its entirety for the first time in Europe. Highlighting the serial aspects of his work, this is a show not to be missed. Romance is in the air as Paris comes alive with couples for Valentine’s Day on the 14 February. Following this, the cutesy kitsch Hello Kitty Live takes place on 20 and 21 February, which is syrupy fun for all the family at Le Grand Rex. And finally, at the Opera Bastille throughout February you can see Rossini’s world-famous The Barber of Seville in a superb adaption by the Paris Opera.

Then don’t miss the spectacle of 40 professional athletes racing up the stairs of France’s iconic landmark, during the Eiffel Tower Vertical Race on 17 March. Film fans should jot 18 to 27 March in their diaries, when the International Documentary Film Festival will showcase work from new and established documentary film makers, at venues throughout the city. Then, of course, late March means Easter… Celebrate on 27 March with Easter Mass in the magnificent setting of Notre Dame Cathedral. Lose yourself in classical music amid the Gothic grandeur of La Sainte-Chappelle. Or let little ones roam in search of goodies at Easter egg hunts across the city.
