Flying With Confidence At Gatwick

The British Airways Flying with Confidence course for nervous flyers is coming to Gatwick on Saturday March 24 – with discounted British Airways flights for anyone who goes on the course.

In addition to tackling their fear of flying, course participants will automatically qualify for a 10 per cent discount on any British Airways flight, for up to nine people – in any cabin class.

With almost 25 per cent of all people having some fear of flying*, the BA Flying with Confidence course has helped more than 45,000 people over the past 25 years.

The one-day course runs across several UK airports, including Gatwick, Heathrow, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The day starts with sessions on the ground with British Airways pilots who explain the technical side of flying, how an aircraft operates and other areas such as turbulence. Clinical psychologists also provide expert advice on relaxation techniques, and how best to deal with anxiety and feelings of panic. The day builds towards a real 45 minute flight on a British Airways Airbus 319 aircraft with British Airways crew – where customers can put the theory into practice.

British Airways Captain Julian Price, from Haslemere in Surrey, who is flying the aircraft on Saturday, said: “It’s great to be able to share my love of flying and help our customers so they can fly with confidence and go on a holiday of a lifetime or visit friends and family abroad.”
