Break out the barbecues and launch those fireworks for the Fourth of July. Then the scorching August temperatures complement a sizzling line-up of huge headliners. Autumn gets off to a lively start in September, with all the fun of the LA Country Fair and concerts ranging from rock to Broadway showstoppers.

Don’t miss out on tickets for Rent, at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills from 16 to 26 July. Or the chance to party to the infectious soul-meets-bubblegum-pop sound of Meghan Trainor at the Hollywood Palladium on 24 July.

On 9 August check out the R.G. Canning Flea Market. This unusual flea market brings a unique buzz to the Rose Bowl Stadium, as 2500 stalls selling extraordinary paraphernalia attract impressive crowds. Finishing on the 16 August, don’t miss the chance to see the Rock & Roll Billboards of the Sunset Strip at the Skirball Center. Featuring more than twenty photographs of hand-painted billboards that dominated the Los Angeles landscape for almost two decades, find out more about the history of Sunset Boulevard’s obsession with rock culture. And finally, a must-see is the Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar at La Scala with Venezuelan maestro Gustavo Dudamel on 30 August.

Foo fighters.

Then get ready for a fair of Los Angeles-proportions, as the LA Country Fair brings fairground rides, circus acts, a five-acre farm and much more to Pomona – from 4 to 27 September. Finally, LA welcomes two behemoths of rock this month… British legends The Who will be bringing their ‘The Who Hits 50!’ tour to the Staples Center on 21 September.
