What's on in Las Vegas over the next few months

Welcome all things Christmas in December, when the annual festive rodeo arrives and big name stars see in the new year. The party doesn’t stop in January, with the fun continuing for the whole month. In February see some exciting old favourites performing on tour, plus fresh new music from Ariana Grande and a musical version of Finding Neverland.

From the 1 to 10 December, the rodeo comes to town with the 30th annual Cowboy Christmas at the Las Vegas Convention Center. A fully immersive western experience, visitors can see everything cowboy at this massive expo. Throughout December, experience a Christmas tree like no other at the Botanical Cactus Garden in Henderson. The Holiday Cactus Garden at the Ethel M Chocolate Factory, sees the cacti festooned with glittering lights – bring an unwrapped present for their children’s charity to obtain tickets. Then, between 27 and 30 December, the one and only Lionel Ritchie entertains at the famous Axis Theater in Planet Hollywood.

Start the new year as you mean to go on with tickets to critically-acclaimed show FUN HOME, which will be showing at The Smith Center from 3 to 8 January. Winner of five 2015 Tony Awards, this uplifting and heartfelt musical explores the childhood of Alison, told from the refreshingly honest perspective of a child. Or book tickets to Motown: The Musical, also at The Smith Center, from 17 to 22 January. A sing-and-dance-along not to be missed, this Broadway favourite tells the story behind the music and features classic Motown numbers from legendary artists. Finish the month off at Winterfest on 28 January, where you can sample the best beer and music that Las Vegas has to offer. Taking place at Nevada’s largest brewpubs – for one day only – try over 40 in-house beers and enjoy live entertainment.

Pop star Ariana Grande performs on 4 February at the MGM Grand Garden Arena or wait for Cher’s world tour, which hits Las Vegas from 8 to 25 February. She’ll take over Park Theater at the Monte Carlo Hotel. The hit Broadway musical Finding Neverland comes to the Smith Center from 14 to 19 February. Based on the 2004 film, it has original music and lyrics co-written by Gary Barlow. 20 February is your last chance to see Town and Country, a special exhibition of Impressionist art at the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art. Rock stalwarts Bon Jovi keep living while they’re alive – touring after the release of their latest album. See them on 25 February at the T-Mobile Arena.
