The Holiday Inn Resort – Buena Vista offers affordable convenience thanks to its location on I-Drive, just a mile from many rides and thrills of Walt Disney World®. This large sky-blue hotel is built round the wavy curves of a huge, palm-fringed pool, where you can swim ‘til late. The accompanying Tiki Bar offers drinks and a full menu, ensuring you don’t have to break from the poolside to eat. You’ll also find two whirlpools on site, while little ones have a splash area complete with giant sprinkling flowers – all easily visible from the outside sun loungers and seating. Back on dry land, there’s plenty on offer from an arcade games’ room to evening entertainments for the kids. Eating here is simple and family-friendly affair with its main Applebee’s restaurant offering a wide American-themed menu appealing to even the fussiest of eaters.

The hotel's location is a major draw, being on International Drive and in the heart of Buena Vista, puts it within easy reach of Universal Studios, Lego Land, Space Coast and more. Retail outlets of Buena Vista are within half a mile away, while Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney Springs are all within five miles. The hotel’s status as a Disney World Good Neighbor® Hotel means there’s a free shuttle to the parks – at scheduled times (see hotel’s website for details). A seven-minute walk from the hotel will bring you to the idyllic tropical setting of spring-water-fed Lake Bryan for water sports like waterskiing, tubing, kayaking and paddleboarding. Orlando Airport is just a 20 minutes’ drive away (17 miles).

Rooms range from large and functional through to generously big, although the decor could do with some updating. They’re well kitted with premium bedding, a microwave, toiletries, tea and a Keurig Coffee Maker, as well as a fridge. A standard double can sleep up to four, while its KidSuites offer even more flexibility for young families thanks to a separate area for bunk beds (with two beds) , complete with TV and Xbox. If you're after more flexibility, or have slightly older kids, interconnecting rooms are also an option.
